The most beautiful thing about winter is the condensation on the windows,
The way we can write in it.
We can write the symphony of our thoughts,
Our lives,
Our dreams.
And we can lie in the dark and listen to our heart-beat,
Feel the chill breeze hitting our bones,
The sacrifice we make for walking in the cold,
To clear our heads,
To return home with nothing but dreamscapes in our minds.
And some people see winter as a disease which plagues our year,
The season that causes locks to rust,
The time of archaic clothing;
Coats,
Scarves,
Gloves.
And in the winter the sun rises,
Brightly,
Simmers and then retires a few hours later.
It hides behind the buildings,
The horizon turns into a black abyss.
Until, many long
Dark hours later,
The sun rises again,
The sky brightens,
As we take our first tentative steps of the morning
Into the frosty air,
Watching our breath steam,
Magically,
Then quietly disappear.
