While I sat remembering all our years shared together,
sitting in this fancy restaurant, celebrating fifty years!
Holding hands and gazing into his eyes.
A young couple approached us and said...
we don't mean to interrupt and this won't take long.
But you see, we just got married and we have only one question.
We see you are celebrating fifty years so...
"what is the secret that binds you forever?"
We smiled at them and invited them to sit.
Our journey has been long and filled with
both blessings and heartaches.
For better or worse we said in our vows.
Memories of days gone, times filled with loving words,
and arms wrapped in sweet embrace.
Promises made without doubt of fulfillment.
The silent look that needs no spoken words,
our passion that came together to create our Son;
tears of pain we shared for the lost of our little girl.
Storms of addiction that threaten to destroy with no mercy;
surviving all obstacles given only to strengthen in unity.
And that's what binds us with the true understanding of forever.

I chose this one cause I don't usually write about love so it was a challenge!
