Haunted by the Memory

I'm haunted by the memory of you;
You still enter my dreams at night-
Leaving me distraught at daylight...
And I wonder are you thinking of me to?

I'm haunted by the memory of you;
Images flashing through my mind every day-
I question if they'll ever fade away...
And I wonder are you thinking of me to?

I'm haunted by the memory of you;
I see you in every broad back-
But then I dismiss them for all they lack...
And I wonder are you thinking of me to?

I'm haunted by the memory of you;
I think of you in every song I hear-
I will sit and listen tear after tear...
And I wonder are you thinking of me to?

Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same.
Which is why when I saw you, I didn't shout out your name.

Yet I'm still haunted by the memory of you,
And I wonder if you are thinking of me to?

Author notes

So I actually dreamed this poem...and woke up singing it. It was such a cool experience, I thought I'd put it up on allpoetry.

I'd love to hear your thoughts...

    Excellent

    I like the way this poem flows and how your emotions flow with it. I really liked "Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same." So true. Take care, Michele
