Ahead of the times.

Brightness flashes- sharp colors,
dizzying arrays of vibrancy caress
the pale skin of the ego
ignoring bitter flesh.

This new found dilemma
meets the old resolve
in a dance that's better left
unspoken and reserved
for a time when things
don't seem quite so..
out of it.

It's only a matter of time
before the beats in your head
lead you to your knees-
screaming to the air
that you can't take it anymore.

Liar.

You can, but this new found enlightenment
is just a little too much to handle-
especially when your nerves are tingling
and your craving what you always knew you needed.
But it'll never be right-
not in this life.
So hide it until you feel bad for hiding it.
bad for doing it.
Bad for even thinking of the answer-
because the new wave is a head of the times.
They just don't know it yet.

Author notes

Self destruction is begat by Enlightenment.

this is option 7 right? and uhm what do you mean by begat? it's a typo right? I'm guessing begin/began but it wont fit the "is" . And seems you agreed with it(option) but in a different way right? please do enlighten me if, i am wrong. Your first 3 stanzas are amazing, especially the first, which captured my attention. The last stanza pretty much sumed it all up, creating the troubling conclusion " the new wave is a head of the times, they just don't know it yet." Oh and special mention to 2nd stanza too, I just wub it!

Shh. I meant began. No idea where begat and is came from. I guess I got sidetracked. Option 7 would be correct. I'm glad you enjoyed it =)
