A dismal day at work

Yesterday, it was a dismal day for us
Ambience soaked with sheer stress
Many lost their jobs due to lack of work
Utmost loyalty wasn’t worth the perk.

Some eyes showered pearls of emotion
The others suppressed the commotion
They strode down the stairway in despair;
Holding on to their dignity beyond repair.

"Their hands are tied", the management said.

To subsist they had to cut the overheads
One door closes, another opens; we say
We wish you good luck in a heartfelt way

O’ Robin Hood come back and bring some jobs
And ameliorate our Government that robs.

    Hey Mina!
This is a sad, well-flowing and hopeful write.
    Wonderfully expressed with empathy.

This is true. Happening everywhere these days. I have nt even begun my career & even I'm tensed about my job. Offer letter is being delayed. Dont know what's in future. I'll pray that all those people get jobs soon. Nice verse.
    Thanks for sharing

That is heart breaking to see so many people loosing their jobs..what will they do? How will they support their families..? Sometimes the government just takes joy in interrupting people's life..touching write..take care.

    Superb plus

A very fine write, indeed. Instead of laying off employees, why don't rich corporate heads of companies cut their own salaries and benefit packages. The stock holders ought to demand this.
    Again a very fine write.

I LOVE IT! The governement is taking our jobs, sending them overseas and it's awful. This poem really speaks out about it!
