Hm...I stumbled across this one last night and decided to think about it a bit before I commented. For me, this piece raised the question of "Would an immortal really wish for demise sooner or later?" I decided to throw human nature into the equation. Human beings (as a generalization) crave power. To the point that they're often bent and corrupted by it. And according to any recorded history I can recall, it only increases in severity as time elapses or as more power is gained. I personally would view immortality as a form of power. Power over death itself. Perhaps even power over mortals to some extent. It would give an interesting view into whether the human lust for power is finite or infinite. Sorry for the ridiculously long comment, it made me think.
