Who's Limping Now

I think it was yesterday
I was down on my knees,
Begging you, "Please.
I want you to stay."
Now I'm backing away.

You swear to God that you know,
But the moment has passed.
You also swore it would last.
And now you've nothing to show.
And I have ways I can go.

I bet you think

That I'm still afraid
That you are my life
That I've disobeyed
That you know my strife

Now read my ink

You don't know me
And you're not my lover
You never did see
And now it's over.

Author notes

Ok, yes, I'm writing about being jilted. I'm admitting it. For anyone who actually cares, send me a message and I'll spill the story.

This is a good poem... has a great flow and a lot of meaning to it. Can really see the emotion in the writing which gives off a strong vibe. Very well written poem

It's not my style to write about things I feel too strongly about, because it doesn't make great poems. But, well, I figured the strong vibes would compensate, at least a little. I guess it did.
