Clowns can be more than just scary and funny...

I saw something in this shadowed night
I saw something true and strangely right
a conversation of pureness occurred, and hope was again provoked
of how a funny cloaked clown got caught in a love choke.
His expressive words of choice sliced thru my bruised chest
resting ,unsettled, in my soul, causing blood pools inside my fractured head to wake up from a dead cold rest..
He spoke
with reassuring pride
about the feelings for a vampire who could one day be his beauty bride,
He spoke
in poetic flowing rhymes
words so sincere it sent my mind on a wishing ride
Adoration is what i smelt
amidst every bone showing what he so strongly felt
a funny cloaked clown taught me a thing or two
about never giving up on the gold in the love rule
even when it seems forgotten and cruel.

I now see what i think i always knew

Yeah, i feel a slight sorrow in my sinister warped heart,
for what this funny clown said tore my wasted insides apart
There is still much to be loathingly learnt,
the lessons that love is not just a plastic curtain that can be ignorantly burnt
Devour the concepts like the clown
and if love has [dam]maged you, don't hide the scars
don't fade into a grim frown
don't allow yourself to get trapped behind blistered hate bars
free your heart, set it into sturdy flight
and you never know, maybe like that funny cloaked clown, things might sweetly come right.

Author notes

I wrote this poem on Halloween, after having to bear the pain of a freshly broken heart, and the pain of seeing love so clear in two of my friends- the clown and the vampire. Inspiration to write was encouraged by raging emotions...
