Soldier, Sculptor, Painter, Teacher

Left from the right the sword cleaves asunder.
Rightly dividing the word of truth his work is God’s wonder.
The path left behind is now very clear.
The will and heart of the Lord has been brought to bear.

The painter applies the colors of grace, the intent of the Kingdom of God.
These hues reveal His beauteous face. His own are moved to laud.
The voice of the Spirit is heard behind his teaching.
All of those who choose to hear it bear fruit of His good changing.

Chisel of love, and of mercy, the Form is a little clearer,
as those who look into His word, as into a mirror.
Grief of sin gives way to promise found in hope,
as if holy breath breathes upon each discouraged smoke.

Happy are those who heed the word, their feet on firmer ground.
Praise is pouring from each heart; it’s worship without sound.
But greater praise must come, through lives being changed,
as wills continue to submit, its life is rearranged.

Very nice and quite a credit to a minister's yoke. Reminds me of God's light being a lamp unto our feet and our paths.

What a neat person this must be. Great poem and dedication!

    this is so beautiful...
I particularly love the line that goes "the painter applies the colors of grace, the intent of the kingdom of God" signifies what the preacher brings...does'nt it?
