The fairest flesh, belies the
blackest death of the souls'
torments, toiling amidst the
cataclysmic despair within the
heart of the soul.
Truth belies the beauty
of a love, cursed by the
confine of an ill-fated name.
Oblivious to its relevance,
inauspicious in its existence.
Forsooth, that light through
yonder window that doth cascade
upon the hollow skin,
belies the anguish of a love
unbound, a love forever lost.

My interpretation of R&J, with a throwback to Shakespeare at the end.

Sometimes you fear that you'll never find anyone else again and will therefore never find yourself either.

its hard to not enjoy R&J, its a classic... In this poem, I was kind of attempting to modernize it, by bleakly retelling the story, but I wanted to stay true to the source and pay homage to it... and, well, this is what I ended up with.

"an ill-fated name...a love forever lost." -
This is an interesting interpretation... so, do you like the story or not? I enjoyed the language you used, it kept the poem rooted to it's inspiration. Great take on the prompt, and good luck!
