Faded Jeans

My memory of our childhood together never fades
At least, it never seemed to
But looking back,
I see no laughter
No fun times at the pool
No first date
Just sad good-bye's
And dark thorns piercing my skin
Instead of happy memories,
There is one big scar
It's not visible,
But it is there

To leave once loved ones trailing behind,
Reminds of faded jeans...

Oh, Nicolle, very powerful! I like how you explain that the sad memories overpower the good ones, that is very honest and un-sugarcoated, which I love about your writing!
