Grandma's Flower Garden

A gentle wind kisses Lilly upon her face so sweet.
She loves to visit Grandma’s garden because it’s such a treat.
All the birds are singing, then suddenly off they fly,
And fluffy clouds come floating,
Across the clear blue sky.

Lilly’s catching sunbeams under the shade of the old oak tree.
Grandma’s watering the garden; she can’t just let it be.
The honeysuckle is climbing up the trellis high,
And fluffy clouds come floating,
Across the clear blue sky.

A tortoise comes walking from under his shady spot.
His sluggish pace forward makes Lilly laugh a lot.
Grandma sees him crawling and wants him to safely pass on by,
And fluffy clouds come floating,
Across the clear blue sky.

A butterfly comes to tickle Lilly upon her up turned nose.
Grandma’s watering the garden with the long green garden hose.
The spiral ginger is growing up next to the fence so high,
And fluffy clouds come floating,
Across the clear blue sky.

A stealthy lizard is running across the garden gate.
Lilly wants to catch him, she just can’t wait!
Grandma wouldn’t ever dare question how or why,
And fluffy clouds come floating,
Across the clear blue sky.

A brown bunny goes hopping across the flowerbed.
Lilly giggles loudly and turns her little head.
She thinks the ribbon in her hair will make him a fancy tie,
And fluffy clouds come floating,
Across the clear blue sky.

A tree frog is dancing to Lilly’s happy smile.
Grandma puts the hose down for just a little while.
Flowers tilt their rainbow heads and heave a subtle sigh,
And fluffy clouds come floating,
Across the clear blue sky.

A moonbeam kisses Lilly upon her face so sweet.
She loves to visit Grandma’s garden because it’s such a treat.
The sun has set this evening on another clear blue sky,
And fluffy dreams come floating,
I never question why.
