to see her smiling face;
you drew your friends and fostered wrath
to drive me from my place.
Picking pieces of my mind
from poems dropped in care;
like breadcrumbs I had left behind
you always stopped to stare.
Your name had changed so many times,
your picture on the page;
following my heartfelt rhymes
while driving me to rage.
At last I tired of the game,
the darkness you embraced;
tired, I just knew my shame
as you willed me disgraced.
No, I'll never love again,
and thank you for the view;
and I despise the poets pen
that tortures me anew.
For can the sun shine once again
where frost has turned to ice?
Or hurt be turned to care and then
be turned again to nice?
Author notes
"If you don't like the way I'm living, you just leave this long haired country boy alone" and "country boys can survive" There are dogs that prowl the internet, vacant of any real meaning in their own life, who hunt an easy mark for an easy bleed...just so they can laugh. May God hunt them down..."you can run on for a long time, sooner or later God will cut you down" - Johnny Cash
In all fairness, this didn't happen here at Allpoetry, it happened at a dating site that purports to remove people that are "unfit" to date...how these predatory minds can hunt and harm in the guise of "poetic expression" and remain on the site is way the hell beyond me. It is because of them that I refuse to become involved with anyone online any more than I do. Parents, children, hurting hopeful - BEWARE.

this is just horrible I have seen some thing about some website I think it was e harmony that was refusing "gay & over weight " people it was on TV one night I do not see how they can be so cold and harsh to say you are unfit to date people, it makes you look at it and think what are we in Nazi Germany ? and in some ways we have built our own cage by letting Corporate America choose our clothes, our life, our tv, our drinks, our movies, what is right and what is wrong now it is time to make a difference
thank you for writing and putting your 2 cents out there and I hope to see you in our next contest thank you for participating

Excellent write here......great rhyme to enhance your work as well

I find every L and S* rich with knowledge.....you are definately aware of the danger which this contest brings to the forefront of each Poet who checks it out......thank you for penning some words which I am sure will help anyone out who thinks for a moment, Role Play is NOT dangerous........I mean, come one......someone dies!
....and in the real world, yes, we see it happening all the time.......people caught up in something bigger than they were.....and then it happens......another funeral of a young child addicted to the Nets shadows.........may your Higher Power bless you and keep you.....your score shall be sent to your Host......Bear -

Thanks much
On the flip side of the insanity, I recently saw a news story about an oriental woman who murdered her "cyber" husband for "cyber" cheating on her...he's dead, she's in jail...playing a new role. Why can't people LIVE? Really live. I dunno, thanks much for the comment.
