Such memories that linger ever true
are thoughts of Christmastime and dearest you,
when childhood was a far off magic world
beneath our Christmas tree our dreams unfurled.
We smile and think of toys and Christmas pud
fat stockings filled with treats and all things good,
between us both our cousin Patsy kneels
will anybody know how strange this feels?
To stare into this photograph so old
unravel many stories never told,
a healthy bouncing girl with plaited hair
while you my dearest sit and gently stare.
So treasured are these memories of mine
they age but keep their flavour like old wine,
those happy times will always warm my heart
and keep me going when we are apart.
Author notes
This is a very old picture of myself(far left)and my dear sister Linda(far right)who suffered much as a child with Asthma-she is a survivor in every sense of the word and I love her to bits.

great!
I came across this when looking at a few other poems of yours - and I love how youve used a very honet and lovely photo to help with your description. this was clearly a very memorable time for you and its great you can share it.
Im not sure if you would enjoy any criticism however - try not to force your rhymes too much. You can still get the point across by using a number of different words and sentences - try fiddling around with different rhyme schemes first and alternative words. though generally - this flows in a very natural way. well done.

So much is lost now with most pictures being captured and stored on PCs
I love the old photographs stored in boxes that one can pull out and revive the times of its conception.A beautiful poem written with love in the heart of the viewer Good luck in the contest
