You've made it far..
you say.
I am your musical sponge
notes and notes of off-key rubbish
I am mudded gray...
your musical sponge.
You're coming out of the wall
making your way to the jaybirds
trying to pity
the worms and gophers
the pretty things that don't speak
you've made it far, you say.
a wonderful conclusion to what you've
settled for
notes and notes you speak, dear
but i can't hear you.
the sky blue, the earth green
but i am more concerned
with the winds and depths of seas deserted
the secret places
robbed of breath
the heart one cannot speak
i like your color..
the wilted blue reminds me
of things i cannot say to you
the weird and whimsical things
the deep and bitter spaces
melancholic works of
inner poetry
having you consider
these few bits
a waste of time,
i'll laugh in a disheartened way
as i tend to do
when you pass on by.
i'm no better than you
as long as you
remove the pedestal.
as soon as you recognize
my eyes say more
than your mouth finds capable.
you say.

Captivating!
My friend I really loved this take
on the prompt and feel it added an
intriguing perspective.
Your words painted images of depth
and emotion that transforms the usual
gab. I was able to siphon a lot of
sound knowledge and undestanding from
this piece. I believe it opens the door
to real dialogue worth pondering.
Thank you for this marvelous poem.
Best wishes in the contest
