Sometimes, when you stare into the abyss
The abyss will stare back into your soul,
And each and everyday you feel remiss,
You’re searching for the truth to make you whole,
But the truth is well hidden from the world,
And you find yourself crippled and alone,
You’re begging for your bonds to be unfurled,
Your life and dreams are lost to the unknown.
Pill bottles in hand, those thoughts in your mind,
You take a deep breath, and you know its time,
Thinking, you realize all you left behind,
And for once in your life, you feel sublime,
But now it’s too late, your already gone,
Never to awake and see the new dawn.

Wow, this is just amazing. It is so deep, and at least for me, a moment I can relate to. It touches the mind on such a deep level and leaves a person not only thinking, but truly feeling as well. The line : 'You’re searching for the truth to make you whole' that just stole me right there. The power behind your words is just amazing. Thank you for sharing this with me, and for entering it in to my contest. The best of luck to you.
