The one with the broken wing?
See how she tries to fly?
But fails each and everytime?
Oh, precious little butterfly
I know your time is short
I'll cradle you in my hands
Because I love you so
I know that you are blind, little one
and I know that you cannot talk
Even worse, I'm so sorry you cannot walk
Samantha, my little butterfly, I miss you every night and day
I wish you didn't leave for heaven that one sleepless night
I miss your laugh, and that funny way you'd dance
I miss the little butterfly I would hold in my hands
Fly, Samantha, fly
Take wing and soar
I hope you have no more pain
I hope you can see and talk
And one day I'll be in heaven with you
and we will take a walk
And I'll tell you how beautiful you are, and how I care for you
How you were the love of my life
and how my heart has ached for you all these years
and you, beloved Samantha, will take my hand in yours
and say in a clear pure voice, "Thank you for taking care of me, all of my short life. I love you so dearly, so purely, and so deeply." and then, with tears in your eyes you'll say, "I've waited my whole life to be able to tell you that face to face."
Then I'll take you in my arms
And hold you tight
So you won't see the tears rolling down my face

Samantha was thirteen when she left this world. She was handicapped, and was blind, mute, and could not walk. She was a light in our world. And I miss her so.

I love this poem! It's so touching and made me very emotional. I loved the use of imagery and I really like the title "Butterfly With the Broken Wing". You are so talented, that I wish to read more of your work. Great job and this is so touching. Thank you for sharing this. -
This was an beautiful dedication poem to Samantha I'm sure she's in heaven surrounded by butterflies.This poem reminds me of something someone once told me that if a butterfly lands on your finger you should whisper secret wishes to it and let it fly free carrying your wishes and dreams silently to spirit.
