Oh lucky me,
I ended up with an owner
who is a Dr. Doolittle wanna-be.
My feline pride not enjoying
his idea of being a pal to every animal.
Only made worse
because he watched that stupid movie on those meds,
when he started talking to the fern
how could it lead to anything, but trouble for me?
Was a living hell enough
forced to stroll around the neighborhood
with that parakeet glued in seat and strapped to my back,
that he claimed had told him
was my mother in another life!
Survived the stares and jokes
by the neighborhood cats,
at least it made Brutus that maniac Doberman living next door
crack up so bad he couldn’t threaten to eat me.
Managed to explain it away
as making some extra cat chow
by bird sitting,
thank god, I was able to spike their water with cat nip!
But this! It is just too much,
my lamebrain owner saying this stupid rat
is Meltronic, Lord of Universe
from the planet Snavely-thistle,
claims if I don’t treat it right
he’ll have to get me neutered to keep from being turned into slime.
So now I’m playing chair for some little mouse,
hoping the other cats will buy this is my twin
who just came out weird when born.
