Snowflake Ballet

Snowflakes softly dancing down,

taking their time to perform their ballet,

street lamps functioning as a spotlight,

their audience small children,

with their noses pressed against the windows,

fogging the glass.

In the bright morning sunlight,

snow sparkles like a thousand crystals,

waking up to find the world covered in white,

it takes a minute to remeber that it is snow,

their ballet had come to a close.

But the beauty still goes on,

until spring comes again.

Author notes

prompt: winter/snow
Why I'm entering: I liked the prompt, and I thought since the time of year where it starts snowing a lot in some places, it was a good time to right a poem about snow. Writing this also brought back memories that I'd almost forgotten about.

One of my favorite past times is sitting on a rocking chair by one of our big picture windows and watching the world turn pale. This poem brought back memories of that.

This was a wonderful write well worth waiting for. Thanks for entering!
