Guardian Soldiers

We are,
The burning flames,
Reflected,
In your eyes,
At days end.

We've become,
The heartache,
Haunting you,
Morning, noon,
And night.

We represent,
The forgotten,
The enduring,
And the lost,
Unknown soldiers.

We sacrifice,
Our lives,
Our futures,
Our dreams
For yours.

We march on,
Never coming home,
Never returning,
Giving our lives,
So you may continue on with yours.

    o wow!

this poem has alot of thought behind it about how we really don't think about how our soldiers sacrifice so much for our freedom. they volenteer for this and them sighning up they know what they are going in for and most are prepared for it.

I really loved this poem and how you captured a soldiers duty to protect others at the possible cost of their lives. Keep up the good work.

good use of short lines. Very succcinctly told throughout! Ah, war, so terrible...as R.E. Lee once said: "It is well that war is so terrible lest we learn to love it too much!" again, a fine poem!

    Wow...

It makes me feel good to know that other people think this way too. I hope when I join the marines people will think well of me too.

    Whoa! Intense!

I absolutely love this. Written from the soldiers' perspective, like they are speaking in this poem. Full of truth and emotion. This one hits you hard. Great write deserving promotion.
