Rain on the rooftop.
It takes me back in a flash
To that awful night.
To the scene of the crash.
My world became gray.
In a small amount of time.
When I lost him...
It just has to be a crime...
Rain on the rooftop,
Rain on the street.
A sight so enchanting.
A memory bittersweet.
When my car slid away,
So did his life.
Took a father from a child.
A husband from a wife.
The memories pile up,
And time moves on.
With every rainfall,
I become more withdrawn.
They ask me why I'm sad.
Drip, drop, drip, drop.
Nothing, I manage to say.
Just the rain on the rooftop.......
