I gaze into the night’s sky
And the stars set my eyes ablaze
The air begins to chill
And a shiver flows down my spin
In unholy silence
My ears being to ring
As faint footsteps are heard
I close my eyes
And search the empty space that surrounds me
But he is well hidden within the shadows
The fire suddenly lights all around
Yet it remains cold
I look to my feet and see my reflection
Burning back at me
The sensation of invisible hands
Grasp at my shoulder
As I fall to my knees
I look to the heavens anew
And watch the flames devour all darkness
I feel my soul being pulled from above
And become cradled in death's caring arms
I gaze back into my abandoned eyes
And see the affliction and agony
Slowly evaporating
And being replaced
By relief
