Burden of Intimacy

I sing a song of life and time,
I sing a song of will and mind,
Of sorrow for a lost logic,
For ignorance has made me sick,
Yet, somehow I feel more than strong
Enough to offer you a song.

The steep slope has a little hole that leads into the ground.
I climb the mountain from inside when nobody’s around.
It’s dark and lonely in the cave, the odor stale and strange,
But when I exit from the top the whole world’s rearranged.

The annals of mankind record
The consciousness we can’t afford
Has put our minds on overload
With fear from Hammourabi’s code.
So silently it feeds and grows
And people fall like dominoes.

Convergence of the sun and Earth have merged to make their mark.
As witnessed by the moon and stars whenever it is dark.
I made the damp and dirty climb inside the hollowed Earth
To look upon the sun again in spirit of rebirth.

As some may live so some shall not,
For some will learn what can’t be taught,
Still others flounder and may drown,
Or catch the boat next time around.
The mystery of what I say
Is who can listen anyway?

The passion gifted from the winter, summer, spring and fall
Convinces me alone I cannot understand at all.
But sailing safely on the winds of north, south, east and west
I’m leaping from this mountaintop in knowledge I am blessed.

  • ...and that, grasshopper, is flying...

wonderful song/poem, full of wisdom. I like the image of rebirth from inside the earth, the primordial cave, to view the heavens with rearranged eyes
