A poet he denies to be
and yet he leads Allpoetry
in rhyme and meter so precise
you'd think he used some smart device.
With golden trophies on his page
his work has reached iconic stage,
but still he ridicules his fame
(nor will the swine disclose his name!).
And so we join to bow in awe ~
"Please write some more!" We all implore,
so may the legend spread its wings
and fly through hoops and magic rings.
Forsooth, he promised he would shed
the 'Legend' for his name instead;
Let's hope it is a name of class ~
not Longbottom or Snoddinggrass!

Others, may say that i,am a poet
It's not in me, to say I know it
I just enjoy the things i do
and hope that what I put on view
will be enjoyed by those who read
its all the praise I'll ever need
As to my name, don't hold your breath
Legend I remain till death
What difference, if you knew my name
the poetry remains the same
It's easier to fill my task
when i can hid behind my mask
Congratulations on you silver award and thank you for your tribute in entering

This put a smile on my face. It's been a while since I had the pleasure of reading a poem of yours, but they never fail to impress, and I can't think of a better topic to pen a humrous, well written, well rhymed poem than about the Legend himself. Congrats on the silver, it was gold worthy in my mind.

Screamingly funny and a superb tribute to Mr Snoddinggrass!!!
More than worthy of the silver but Earth to Jim has out outrageoused you

LOL! You're taking a two in a million chance that his last name could be Longbottom or Snoddingrass! You'd have to write an epic apology if such was the case! Anyhoo, congratsies on the silver and nice work on a beautiful tribute, longshots notwithstanding!

Thank you for such a wonderful poem about 'Legend', this was a joy to read and well deserving of the silver trophy.
I am as curious as you as to name of the mystery we call 'Legend', but I have a feeling we will never know.
Again, congratulations...Sue and Jeff

Bravo
Excellent rhyme, a touch of humor and a poem of adulation all in one. Very nicely done to honor someone I currently do not know, but will look up so that I may read. You have a wonderful sense of humor!
