Treading water
in the black sea
of my illness,
I cannot rest
my weary limbs
as they struggle
to keep me
from sinking
into
oblivion.

This is a universal poem - it speaks true for serious illness, depression, any serious or long term issue. Great write!

I need to re=read this.... hang on a second.... ok - what is happening? You are struggling with something mental or physical... is it resolved? I see this was written a long time ago. Not sure how I came by this page.... just reading something my 'sis' wrote a while back.
Black Sea of your illness? I suddenly feel that I should have stopped by this poem years ago... Sorry

Yes this poem is about my 27 year struggle with advanced heart disease and diabetes. Thanks for the applause

Oh, Richard, such a meaningful poem. One which touches something deep inside me as the tides touch within your brave heart. Your strength carries you beyond the strength of your illness
I hope it carries you a long, long time, my friend.
A stunning piece

SWEET AMBROSIAL FODER FOR THE ANGELS
Deep as these tides be,will those limbs to keep treading. That you hold such strong affinity for the value that living is,tells me you will. I know we share a deep abiding love of nature as it unfolds each new day,so...beautiful! So much so,that over that one day rainbow bridge beyond this existance,we are sure to find it there in spades my friend. Yes,we shall indeed.
