Love Someone Else.

Calling my name in your sleep
And endlessly dreaming of scenarios to save me from
Leaves you with nothing but disappointment.
Learn to love someone else-
Offer them the devotion you've shown to me,
Use your charms to fool them into your circle.
Send them late night texts professing your love...
Needing someone to want you is not a bad thing,
Especially if that someone is not me.
Save your ego from devastation, and
Select someone else to be your idol.

(I'm sorry for not being able to love you.)

Author notes

I feel the pain of unrequited love, and this is why I hate having to put someone else through the same pain. I've tried to be selfish about it, but I still care for them, so this poem may not really work.

This is good. I especially like the lines

"Needing someone to want you is not a bad thing,
Especially if that someone is not me."

    Very honest write.
