Consider

Glance down,
and consider whether or not to just
wear that damn turtle neck.

(Better not, it's summer)

so instead just brave the top,
and flinch
"How'd you get those scars?"
"I bathed the cat."
"You must have done it a lot"

they know though
they just won't say it.

Consider the skirt
for the dance
chose to wear it
-with jeans underneath-

Get there,
and it's
"Darling, why must you ruin
something so pretty"

Consider- changing.
But then they'll know just how much.

Wishing you could stop
ruining everything.

Author notes

Livingemptyspaces.
I was a cutter a few years back, and I have over 50-100 scars.
This is pretty much my daily dilemma.
of how to hide it.

My scars were smaller(Anywhere from an inch to three), because I did designs on my legs- crosses, boxes, letters. Hearts on my chest. *hugs* Showing my legs at all does suck. Especially since I live in the south, and it's hard to wear jeans all the time. But at least I have stopped. God- It was hard too though, I wish you the best of luck.
