The sonnet called Bell, book, and candle
ritual dating back to the eighth century
together with his accomplices and abettors cradle
excommunicating that certain person from the society
we judge him damned, with the devil
all churches in heaven and on earth
uplifting to eternal fire of spirit level
and the hope for a spiritual rebirth
as we declare him excommunicate and anathema
and his angels and all the reprobate
his amendment and to penitence extrema
the powers, duties, and obligation has abdicate
in spite of the most severe punishment.
The bell rings as the candle extinguishes
