Silencing the Songbird

We were doomed from the start
I never fully had your heart
Why couldn't I just fly away
away from the pain
away from the pain.

But I fell for your tricks
fancy words holding no meaning.
You stole my heart
but didnt give me yours in return.
I was a tune to be sung for a short time
to fill a void
but then thrown away.

You've silenced the songbird
Put her in a cage
but never let her spread her wings
so you both could fly.
The tune became sour
as the fire set in
a burn to the heart
from love's games.

Broken on the ground
staring at the sky
such a long fall
My wings are broken

    Beautiful last lines there... so many poeple don't express this kind of emotion...

    I'd love to hear the melody to this...
