A New Journey

Missing image
A mother's love sees but a smile
no matter what it does beguile,
she sits content watching awhile
it's all worthwhile, it's all worthwhile.

This child fills up an empty space
as delicate as finest lace,
content within mother's embrace
this is God's grace, this is God's grace.

Bonds most deep will surely be made
forward together, not afraid,
the game of life will all be played
as love cascade's, as love cascade's

This life will grow and leave the nest
in knowledge that we've done our best,
time to search for life's truest quests
you have been blessed, you have been blessed.

Monotetra Form

Monotetra shadowpoetry.com
The monotetra is a new poetic form developed by Michael Walker. Each stanza contains four lines
in monorhyme. Each line is in tetrameter (four metrical feet) for a total of eight syllables. What makes
the monotetra so powerful as a poetic form, is that the last line contains two metrical feet, repeated.
It can have as few as one or two stanzas, or as many as desired.

Stanza Structure:

Line 1: 8 syllables; A1
Line 2: 8 syllables; A2
Line 3: 8 syllables; A3
Line 4: 4 syllables, repeated; A4, A4

    Powerful!

Your poem in Monotetra is forceful and expressive. Though it is a much too constraining form for me, I fully appreciate what you have done with it. Your rhyming is flawless and you have pulled on your readers heart strings. Great write!

What a really pleasant take you have presented. I must admit to liking this poetic form it always gives me pleasure when reading it aloud. You rhyme with ease as the lines flow drawing me in as you paint the journey of life. This would make a brilliant poem or poster for all new mums to read. I am taken back to the bonding process when mother and baby first meet. Blessed with such a precious gift. Very nicely constructed. Good luck in the contest.

always a pleasure to read your works . And God bless those good mothers. Sadly at times there seems to be a shortage of them in our new most secular world of .. if it feels good do it.
