If I Could Do It Over

if i could do it over inside my head,
i would take back the angry words i said.

if i could change the past to make it right,
i would take back every little fight.

if i could see you one last time to say good bye,
i would show you my love and that i do cry.

if i could hold you and allow it to be real,
i would show you just how i feel.

if i could do it over, i would change me,
i would love you enough so that you see.

if i could go back in that moment when it all began,
i would walk beside you and take your hand.

i would change it all, everything i would say and do,
i would change everything, everything but you.

i wouldn't take back the times we had, big or small,
i wouldn't want to lose you at all.

i wouldn't want to fight or push away,
i wouldn't take back any second of any day.

if i could make it right once more,
i never would've walked out the door.

i never  would've said good-bye or let you go,
i would've changed things you didn't see or know.

i would hold you longer when i had the chance,
i would pull you closer when we would dance.

i would love you forever if only i could,
if i could change this, i know now i would.

if i could go back to that moment in time,
i would be yours, and you would be mine.

if i could change anything i know just what I'd do,
i would say just how much i loved you!

    So many regrets and I think that is a common thread in any goodbye. Things we wish we had or hadn't done. Nice job, thank you for entering the contest. Sorry I am so late in judging. As the saying goes, "Life is what happens when we are busy making other plans."

    Sad but compeling write. Wonderfully penned thank you for entering it into my Contest. it truly shows your emotions of that Moment and the now.. My favorite lines are " if i could make it right once more,
    i never would've walked out the door."

    and.. "i never would've said good-bye or let you go,
    i would've changed things you didn't see or know."

    Regrets! This is a poem everyone can understand and connect with. I know I have had a few in my life but I think that every exprience we have in our life can make us a better person but that depends on you as a person! I believe that was is meant to be will be and what isn't meant to be won't! Good job hun!
