People always fuss about the rain.
They dislike walking in it
complaining that they get all wet
and cold.
But they don't quite understand
just how caring the rain really is.
How the rain let's her tears
fall upon my cheeks
wiping away my own.
she is giving me comfort.
She also gives to me privacy
Her tears wipes away mine so none may see
what it is you've done to me.
The dampness true does cling to my body
but at least now
I have a reason for this shivering
that I am doing.
The rain
she never stops
she keeps on til
I am very full of her
to me she is telling me
of all the heavy burdens I have been carrying.
She is letting me know
that she is always here
willing to share them with me.
People don't understand the rain and how comforting
to me she really is.

bravo!I love the rain, I always have. When it's cloudy and rainy I am the most happiest.. People find that unusual but it's just how I feel.. a wonderful write! thank you very much for sharing.

I like your "she" metaphor. I always think of nature as female. It is so fragile and venerable yet, so strong and forceful. You have a personnal relationship with the rain. It shows in your poem. THanks!

Bravo
I loved the human qualities indowed to the rain, how wonderful to invision the misty veil of protection comforting. Great use of prompt.

A unique write! There is a touch of sadness to this work that grips the heart - we have all been there. Thanks.

You should seek that movie out. It's a beautiful film that avoids melodrama in favour of hope; sad though it is at times. Sarah Polley, Mark Ruffalo & Debbie Harry also give their best performances in it.

I hope you don't feel like that all the time. How often does it rain there? In Ireland it's almost every day. It depresses some people but it just makes being inside even more of a comfort for me. I can't help but think of that scene in the film 'My Life Without Me' while reading this poem. The character has terminal cancer and just gives in to it. It's bittersweet, just like this. Very nice.

Well parts of the year we get a lot of rain... then hardly any it seems. But yeah I like the rain for the most part. though when it goes on for days and days... well you can get tired of a good thing. Never heard of the movie though. Sounds interesting.

I love the rain in all its forms, and it is an especially good camouflage for the tears, that is true.

yeah I thought this a good prompt a few years ago all I could write about were poems that dealt with the rain. Wrote several that were printed in several fanzines. My friend brenda said I was obsessed. So then I went onto anothe obsession... walking, taking a journey somewhere. Then there was snow... I get these obsessions my friends say. But they like what I write. So anyway, this was a walk down memory lane for me. Thanks for commenting.

Bittersweet... both in praise of the rain and it's affect on a broken heart... A lovely write that rings crystal pure as if haunted by memory... Beautifully done.

I think this is very lovely. There are so many ways rain is wonderful. It's like a mother who nutures her child. And like this poem is detailing, she is very comforting.
Blessed be,
