Midnight Colosseum

The cool grass tickles my neck
As the blades dance with the wind.
Around me: crickets play their melodious strings.
Above me: fireflies silently sing
While Orion and Draco war
In the Universal Dome,
Showering the audience
With dazzling sparks
Falling to the ground like glitter.
Silver arrows reflect the
Splendor of the spotlight
As they fly from
Crystal webs,
Rejoicing in their
Glorious display of blue fire
Before winking into existence
As they plunge into the heart of creation,
Bursting into colorful flames,
Igniting the sky behind Apollo
As he surges forward, chasing the battle
To the other side of the world
And leaving an empty sky in his wake.

Not your best entry in my opinion but still delivers with great imagery throughout as I'm coming to expect from you lol. Great job and good luck in the contest.

Hey, you feel like finding the contest and I'll enter it (providing it takes PW, naturally >.<).
But thank you for your praise. I'm rather fond of this one as well.

Thanks. The beginning and end were my postcard poem. I just wrote the middle yesterday. I'm pleased with how it came out.

        ah, now I recongize it.
I must agree with the person below me, it does have a sort of fantasia-like quakity to it.

    like this a lot!

It's almost like a scene from "Fantasia" translated into words. Very nice.

Thank you. I never thought about it that way, but you're right. It is reminiscent of Fantasia ^_^
