Have broken down to the fringe
Every insignificant growing
Severs at the crook
Snagging on ripped nylons
Wick burned to the bottom of the wax
Doctors used to suggest pills
I could never trip out on prescription meds like all the other kids in sunglass and nail polish and the fabrics of their cracked philosophies, their clucking tongues lolling. Each pop into my mouth only gave me the bitter, humorous knowledge that I was too imbalanced for their sleek new wave: sadistic, aloof, conceited antics.
I'm green-eyed over the girls who still believe in pocket-sized creatures with iridescent lime wings, their tiny canvas of skin made of newborn laughter. These girls, despondent and clutching, believe in boys who come through balcony windows, missing shadows and accompanied by impudent fairies. Twinkling with charming smiles, they stretch out their empty palms to doe eyed girls, so much raw aching in their hidden chests, nobody notices when the boys come and take them.
My breasts are still flourishing
The blue vein pushing through the curve
The unstoppable jungle vine
Easily snapped by masculine hands
I model before the glass: delicately barren
Not understanding how I could be so restrained
......
By this point, I was no longer wearing shoes
My feet against the window
Knees bent, body slumped- twisted
I remember thinking of Ed Gein
And all those women: their skin, his suit
The heavens were blood-spattered
And a mess of orange-peels
Boys were dying in the deserts
Those same ones who sat, crowing, on cupolas
And crept through girls' windows
By this point, life smelt metallic and citrine
Author notes
I just... I don't know anymore...
Was listening to Dirge by Death in Vegas. It's my new theme song. If Batman can have one, then damnit so can I.
Dirge - Death in Vegas
^I'm posting that everywhere. Everyone should listen to it. Everyone.
On the way to my grandmother's in Wisconsin, we'd have to pass Ed Gein's town (he's the inspiration behind Norman Bates from Psycho and Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Mascara) and even during the day time, it was so eerie. I don't know why I wrote that...

OMG your gonna be in Wisconsin?? Thats like one state over from me!!!!!!
Anyway I love how you mentioned Ed Gein. His name itself brought up a thousand different images. This reminded me soo much of high school and how for awhile antidepressants where the "in" drug - why I do not know. They're not that impressive. I love your pieces but something about this one made me stop and read it over and over again...
Love the song too
I need to find one
