After a conversation with Poetry Girl on a Late Saturday Evening

we often receive things
wrapped up with baubles, bows
sprinkles of this & that

layered-up with buttercream life
filled with raspberry-lipped compote daydreams

- have you ever pushed your nose against the patisserie window
breathed a heavylung mouth shape
& just wished?

desire comes with salivation
itching on the end of your tongue
spongified eyes dip into the centre

- but you don't really want to spoil it

fingers and face push forwards
squished to destruction
a desolate dalliance becomes the emergent being
and all the dreams she had
of love and wanton filled hearts
now crushed

like the sponge around her mouth
'babydoll-faced' despair
that is pitiful

she: sings songs in her head
and outloud too

"someone left her cake out in the rain"

OMG Gilly this is just grand...such lovely words from a lovely poet and images abound throughout this piece. On one hand it makes me feel warm and cozy and on the other I feel a lingering sense of need and want and desire for new beginnings. I really enjoyed this alot...sorry I missed it.

This is my second helping of your poetic pattisserie...tasted earlier but was lost for words...stop smilin' Gilly...honest injun ...sometimes it happens to this rambler lol...especially liked desire comes from salivation...mouthwatering metaphors...served with a slice of the book of life..sweet...sweet as one of those tempting but oh so naughty yellow-iced Yum-Yums...and baked by your own fair hands...
