seventeen sea rings swallow a
scrum-checkered bisque into a mouth
so fascinating I can only wish to speak
with such comprehensible poetic finesse
farther away from the truth than I care to think, but....
gone now is the torn world of towers
as the sun sinks with a sob
and night wades in from the all horizons
suckled on shadows, weaned on the webs of sacrament
in an empire of redbreast rust
fishy dish mints might cover my toxic pock marks
left by a breath I did not inhale through
this fissiparous soothing tube mounted with
allegorical flecks of intellect to cover my gap
fear threads the inflamed brain
insomuch as would fill the socket of a fly's eye
the glittering beauties and the glowing horrors
pupils dilate with conjecture
stepping in and out of reality, crushing
this most unwelcome glimpse of immediate sensation…

bam skittle, wicked one! you sure you're not filled with holy spirit and prophesying to the masses with a hell-bent hook in your left earlobe and a word of warning to all? I believe you just caused a shift in earth's plates below me when you released this beast. I wonder if there's any place for some plath and lassiter at your dining table tonight?

i like this a lot, i'm not even remotely sure what it all means, but it really doesn't matter, i just really enjoyed it, and thought it was a great write, best of luck in the contest
