Vivid memories enfold my lonely heart
And I feel a twinge of pain in my head:
The parting scenes as you hold my hands
And tenderly wipe the tears in my eyes,
Each fingertip caresses my pale cheeks,
As we travel along the seashore on foot.
A flash back: You playfully swaying one foot;
I recollect that moment, memorize it by heart
The gleaming sunlight gives you the rosy cheeks
Your soft, silvery hair sparkles on your head
And the glints of teardrops in your weary eyes
Make me shiver; you grasp then stroke my hands.
You sit on the mossy rock; scoop of sand on both hands;
Blow them into the air as you patter your right foot
In that very moment, you beam with such expressive eyes
You breathe; inhale the afternoon breeze that captivates my heart
Then you run towards the seaside, arms spread above your head
I hear you laughing but the tears are falling down your cheeks.
You stand near me and catch your breath, then kiss my cheeks;
Cradle my body as you weep and I feel your shaking hands;
You quiver in my arms when you rest your lips on my head;
You move away slowly; then step back with your right foot
The fleeting smile now gone on your face; a pain in my heart
When I glance at you like a fading sunset in my blurry eyes.
A wave of love flowed in your placid, pensive eyes
Lost in thought, you run your fingertips on my cheeks
Again, you embrace me; I hear the rhythm of your heart
Whispering my name; clasping my trembling hands,
You softly say”I love you. “I quiver from head to foot.
In that split second, I feel tipsy with a spinning head.
Yesterday’s goodbye could not get out of my head
Even when I’m awake or with sleepy, tired eyes;
On the sandy beach where we leisurely walk barefoot;
I remember too well the way you lovingly dry my cheeks
When I ceaselessly cry; then you comfort me with your hands;
Now, only memories remain; as sorrow envelops my heart.
Bowing my head, while teardrops fall down my cheeks,
I entwine my hands; a silent prayer with teary eyes;
Our love will always set foot, to the sands of time in my heart.

OMG Mommy you took me away with emotions on this piece
Wow a Sestina...
poignant...I dream walking barefoot on the beach with
someone I love...and still wondering who that someone
be...maybe it will never happen

Hi summer
Sestina? I thought you were learning sonnets.

-
-
I am still learning sonnets. I'm on my 4th assignment already.

This Sestina is somewhat similar to sonnet? Cuz it's about LOVE, eh?
Thanks, Lee.
