Lovely Words!!
What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful poet. Frans is the essence of kindness and he brings smiles to so many. Oh how proud he and all of you look standing there. What a milestone in his life and how wonderful you got to share it with him.
This was a pleasure to read this morning. A lovely way to start my day.
You take care and have a lbeautiful weekend.

Hallo Sandy!
Thank you so much for a lovely comment!
Yes I agree with every word you said about Frans. I still remember the day I met him. I was a student at the University of Port Elizabeth, and one of my friends, Christine Potgieter and I, used to go to a little park near our residence, where we often sat writing or simply relaxed. Frans came walking along, with this big smile on his face, and Christine said: Meet my friend, Myra, and introduced us. But it was only later, when I was his tutor in Sociology, that I got to know him better. He was a dedicated and happy student, zesty and always smiling. Since then our paths never really parted, for he finally decided to become an academic at this University, lecturing in Sociology, where my husband, Johann Lochner, was also a lecturer in Sociology. Frans wished to make me part of this department, but my husband refused, because he sternly said: I hate nepotism! But, Frans insisted that I at least get a temporary post, working with him fleetingly during the 80's. Right now we work as colleagues on a new approach in healing, where poetry forms an important part. It is also I who introduced him to Allpoetry.com ... and I can state without any doubt that he is addicted to this website!
I am not amazed that you like him -- he is a very popular soul and much loved by his students.
Blessings to you and yours, too!

Thank you for this wonderful reply Myra. It is always nice to see how friendship can last over the years. I too think he is addicted to this site. I think I am too. I am so glad he came here because his poetry is such a delight to read and his friendship has been a blessing.
You take care and I hope you have are having a wonderful day over there. Hugs and Smiles, Sandy

Each of us
remember things - Christine and I were in the Class of '69 and did our final school year together. I wonder if she remembers how she used to let me copy [ashamed to admit] her homework - there was just some things that I just could not do. My bank manager will tell you that he can see this! Some years back Christine left a note on my desk at varsity, and when I read it, I immediately knew it was her - she is the only one who writes like that. I think that we should get toegther again - perhaps next year organise a reunion! Thanks for bringing back this memory - I can still remember where she sat as a matriculant in the class!! Frans. -

Ah Christine! She was my close buddy ...
and I hope to see her soon! Bill Mitchell said earlier this year: I cannot remember the name of your friend, but I could not read her handwriting.
She will LAUGH. We both loved Bill very much.

If Bill knew
that we both knew Christine, he would have said something like: 'This is a small world!' I wonder if any of her 4-5 sons have a similar handwriting?!!

Such a beautiful dedication
And you look so pretty. Love your gown

Thank you Ylova ...
for reading and commenting. I giggled at your reference to my "gown" -- this is my uniform: I have slipped into this outfit one million and one times over the last decade.
I bought it from my friend, the owner of HOUSE OF IMMORTAL in George, a unique boutique, with affordable, but beautiful clothes. The attire did not lose its form and crispness -- I guess in a sense my clothes become "immortal", too, for I wear every piece forever!
For me clothing is a glamorous nuisance. I shall wear a sheet or a calico bag without blinking an eye. And: I love wearing gold, silver and black. It is practical and professional, but I cannot hide my girlish giggle, can I?
I admired the gown of Frans LOL Don't you think he looks good in yellow and blue?

Myra
I am more than humbled by this. Once again, thank you to you and Org. Frans

I saw so many old friends ...
that even the stormy weather could not wipe away my broad smile! We had heavy rain all the way back to George and I forgot to tell you: the wide spread rains on your special day is a token of a fruitful future to you! I do not expect anything less.

It has taken Frans great effort and dedication to reach this instant of official award that is the continuation of his scholastic endeavor on an even higher level. Your words are a concise yet meaningful tribute to Frans and The Light guiding him. Ack.

Well, Chris ...
with Frans being the globalized being that he is, you may meet him in Amsterdam on one of his many ventures.
Please drink a toast on me whenever you do, okay?
