The deep blue sea does sparkle bright; it glows, sapphire sweet,
We laugh and smile into the night, drowsy from fire’s heat.
Our voices rise in happy song, marshmallows toast away,
Your gentle arms hold me so tight, keep the sea wind at bay.
The midnight stars blossoming high in sky so beaming bright,
You take my hand, we dance away, glowing in pearl moon’s light.
On guitar you play gentle tune as golden as the sun,
Your warm, soft voice hums melody; the song has just begun.
The waves sweep softly on the shore, the clouds waltz in the sky,
Your song is calm; I close my eyes, as on warm sand we lie.

Sparkling dawn soon sweeps the sea, the sun shines up above,

I love all of that. I love how you repeated the first line of the poem before the last stanza. Usually I can't stand rhyme, but I couldn't get enough of it here. :] Your poem had that essence of what true love really is. Without the pain, without the extreme passionate sex or kisses, without the clichés. Just laughter and song and the beauty of nature. I'm glad that there are still people out there who haven't forgotten that. Thank you so much for sharing this in my contest.
