As she holds her stomach
She looks at him
And says.
"It's our baby girl.
She's kicking.
Wanna feel?"
He looks at her and smiles
And touches the little foot
That's kicking her mommy
And a tear appears in the corner of his eye.
She's already a daddy's girl.
She's his world and life.
He doesn't know what he'd do
If someone hurt her
15 years down the road
His little girl comes crying home
She runs to daddy
And says
'Daddy, there's this boy.
And I think I'm in love.
But he just can't seem to love me, too.
I don't know what to do."
He looks at her and smiles and says.
"Baby girl,
You're so much better than that.
You're your mama's world and a daddy's girl.
And no one can replace that.
So, don't worry.
One day he'll realize what he's lost."
It's 10 years later
She's getting married to the boy she loves
And she's all dressed in white.
Her daddy knocks on her door.
And says.
"Darling, are you ready?"
She looks at him and says
"Daddy, I'm nervous.
What do I do?"
He looks at her and smiles.
"Well, honey.
You have stars in your eyes
and the sun in your smile.
Any man would be lucky to have my baby girl.
So, don't worry, darlin'
Every thing will be alright."
And he walks her down the aisle with a tear in his eye
Daddy's girl is 50 years old.
And she's by her daddy's side
His last words to her
"Baby, why ya cryin?
Daddy'll be alright.
I'm going away.
But you'll see me again someday.
You're daddy's girl and mama's world.
Don't let that change.
Life takes us all by storm
But, honey, you've avoided your curveballs.
I love you.
And don't you forget that."
She got stars in her eyes
And the sun in her smile.
Daddy loves his baby girl
And nothing's ever gonna change.
