Slipping into darkness,
This is the only way
Heart beats plain and slow
Flowing with fewer breaths
This time is near
For I shall not fear-
Fate and I walk hand in hand
Footprints amidst Destiny’s red carpet
Whispers of goodbye creeps within
As the light shines upon my soul-
To one and all near and afar
The stars spell out my name
My love shines upon a new day
As I walk the road to forever
For this must be done-
Sinking slowly to a place known to the unknown
A soul and spirit testify the truth
For, only a few know
An earthy soul pushed to the limit
Pain and suffering endured
Inflicted by another
The hours turn to minutes
And the hand of life strikes the hour
For this soulful spirit yeans rest
Not long now-
For the time is close closing-

Loved it! You bear an intresting writing style, and never cease to amaze me with your words through the power of descriptive imagery. The last stanza is my favorite, it ends this poem perfectly.
