Could I paint a face a dream
with brush strokes of a child
as innocence, slow, blossoms
my canvas so beguiled.
Does beauty measure time
in feelings, soft, unfurled
as a bud becomes a flower
to bloom before the world.
Growing, searching, feeling, needing
emotions immature
questions still unanswered
nurtured but unsure.
Adolescent stepping stones
her footsteps slowly tread
as her life becomes a book
of pages yet unread.
Softened folds of lustered pink
her eyes in reverie
inside her thoughts a picture
of the woman she will be.
Author notes
Black Narcissus, your prompt will be a picture.~
