What will be the first material items to go in our daily lives? First will be the paper that bills are printed on. Why? Because we'll need the paper to burn in order to keep warm. Then the repo man shows up for our unpaid car loans. His fee from the bank? A home cooked meal. I think I'll make him earn it by not having any gas in the tank. (Haha) Then the cell phone goes quiet followed by the snow on the tv because it's a law that everything goes digital. Then the internet provider that saves twenty a month or less. Followed by electric then the landline.
Candles in the dark, wood stove pumping warmth. I will read my old friends poetry I can no longer comment on. I will remember we still have our poetry. It's free...
