When I walk through life's darkest roads,
And never seem to know where to turn,
When my eyes keep getting dim,
And my surroundings always seem so grim.
When people talk about me at times,
And do not seem to understand,
When my own friends become my foes,
And with all their might crush my toes.
When everything I've dreamt comes crashing down,
And nothing seems to be okay,
When tears continue to flow night and day,
And happiness and peace remain at bay.
This seems like the end of my journey here,
But this does not seem to be the case.
Someone shines a light and tells me where to turn,
And sends His Word and brings forth day.
Though I fall, I continue to rise,
I've got hope, I've got peace,
Because there's Someone who never falls asleep.
When I feel sad and upset,
And tears flow down my cheeks,
There's Someone who, my tears, collects and keeps.
So now its my time to live for Him,
And to do His will and Him forever please

This is such a hearfelt poem so touching I love how you ended it very well written~

I like the theme of your poem, and how it starts out with the speaker seeming hopeless but then finds hope in the Lord. When you revise, maybe shorten the lines and the poem itself a bit, then your epiphany may hit the reader harder. Nice work!

A wonderful poem!
So many out there are influenced by Satan and are not even aware that they are being used. My brothers wives are liberal feminists who believe the bible was written by men to control the women. My brothers submit to their wives, but the wives do no submit in return. So the family get togethers are not to pleasant for me and my wife. There is much tension and angry looks from the feminists.
That is what comes to my mind when reading your lovely poem.
I and my wife and children are safe in God'd hands no matter what.

Very good
I liked that it had a lot of "you" in there. Poetry is a very personal art, an you need to have that emotional influence to tie the piece to the hearts and minds of your readers.

Yes, we always have Him...before all else. A very strong and inspiring piece of poetry.
