Do you think that my stare
makes you strangely aware
of the fact (let's be fair):
I'm a ruddy great bear?
Though my nose is quite square,
my nostrils will flare
when I smell in the air
some edible fare.
I've masses of hair
and then some to spare;
don't ask me to share ~
you don't have a prayer!
If you came to my lair
you'd need to beware:
I freely declare
I'd eat you ~ so there!
Author notes
'Bear' is such a great word to find rhymes for...it lends itself to a monorhyme, so I hope the ones I've used will not sound too awful!

Delightful monorhyme and personification! Enjoyable meter. A very entertaining write!

Awww... look at the big lummocks... you know he's a sucker for pets. I can tell just by looking he's a huggable loveable lap bear! You've made him out to be the stereotypical, uncultured monster of the wilderness with Big SHARP teeth!!! He just wants a couple of slices of lunch meat and a few square yards of power-napping area!

LOL This is a really cool poem. I loved the ending. That is the nature of a bear.
I enjoyed the read!!! Thank you for entering my contest

Excellent Mono rhyme The last line add that little touch of humour that finishes it off beautifully
Good luck in the contest
