The price of love

If only all the sons could see
The price of love its truly free
A penny for each time I hear
The silly thoughts your mind does cheer

A penny for your pains and hurts
A penny for all mini skirts
To sell yours virtue is the crime
No pennys lost as all is mine

A penny for the rainy days
A penny for the suns bright rays
For everyone whos lost their way
For everything you want to say

Already rich i'd surely be
No counting pennies no not me
A penny is a worthless thing
A scorpian that likes to sting

It's all the things you didn't do
Cause pennies were distracting you
These are the things you should regret
Not pennies lost, or pennies spent

But even this I will forgive
A pleasant life you'll surely live
If your treasure is from God above
If God it is you'll feel his love

If God you have his love you give
His pure gold it will outlive
The devils tool to own the vain
If gold you seek, it's gold you gain

Seek not the riches from below
Your gold is truth, so load your bow
Shot forth into the crowd
Bring forth the truth and speak it loud

Do this for treasure none can see
But you will see I've set you free
Speak truth my chosen ones will hear
Show love from up above we cheer

Author notes

In a world so consumed with a desire to gain material wealth, we should remember such things have no true value, and we should place value only in the spiritual treasures of God, for these are the only eternal treasures. When you give a physical object out of love, you gain the love you give, is not then giving so much greater then having. For in giving, we truly have so much more.

A wonderful thought provoking write! Love these lines especially 'A penny is a worthless thing
A scorpian that likes to sting' and also your last stanza.

Money tis nothing. For when we get to Heaven, what is going to be the use of your money? God shall provide and that is all I need to know. Touching write.
