Fortune (Contest)

Money can't buy happiness -
Pleasure, yeah,
A night not so alone,
But that's not lasting.
If you could just find
That contentment,
That pit-of-your stomach
Good feeling,
You'd be the luckiest person
In the world.
I've decided, then,
To make a sound investment -
I'm gonna buy me some luck.
Not just any luck, mind you,
But the very best.
I've found me a heads-up penny
Each and every day,
Popped it into
My late grandpa's wallet,
Washed it in salt
And holy water,
And kept it well away from
Mirrors, black cats, and ladders.
And at the end of the year,
I'm taking it to the Pacific,
The biggest wishing well
In the world,
And tossing it in
As the clock strikes midnight.
Happy New Year.
Happy new life.
Happy.
At last.
