To Fight the Unknown

The morphalitic underworld,
is at the far edge of extreme
Part plant, part human, part animal,
two parts killing machine

She floats upon the stale breeze,
the valley of death is far below
Remembering tales of the macabre,
the stains of blood still show

They slaughtered them in the thousands,
as they discovered their new powers
Hell; rained from the sky above,
as they were killed in fourteen hours

With everything wiped out that day,
an entire race was lost
Never knowing just who they’d killed,
they could not anticipate the cost

It was seven years ago today,
and yet this valley it still does reek
The foul stench lingers till this day,
to all who dare; to take a peek

It seemed to bother no one at all,
as she is still on her patrol
But: something down there lives again,
and it’s about to take control

She catches something with her eye,
swooping low she does explore
Caught by the scent of death itself,
she’s dragged down to the floor

The smell it seems to rape her mind,
her senses overpowered and beaten
Hair cut short, vines all prunes,
her fruit now plucked then boldly eaten

Stripping her of violent thoughts,
leaving her naked without a smile
Made to walk the corridor of hate,
chained by the neck she is defiled

Shredded and torn she’s trod for days,
staked to the gateway of her land
A warning to her parliament,
the bloods now run up from the sands

The valley itself has brought new war;
it marches by day and night
A terror spreads as it closes in;
they’re not prepared to fight this fight

How do you fight a gruesome memory,
when it spreads as thick as oil
Destroying all it comes in contact with,
you lose your heart, your life and soil

The valley has evened up the score,
now the lands do rule supreme
And the morphalitic underworld,
is no longer the extreme
