Problem on Register Two

"Your check is lost in cyperspace,
I'm sorry, ma'am, I can't erase
your purchase from the stupid frozen screen."
The help desk gave me techno-talk,
they say, "it's orphaned." What the f**k
is something like that really s'posta mean?
So now I've angry customers
waiting in line (few things are worse),
and must reboot this finicky machine!

Author notes

True story. . . and honestly the first thing the word "orphan" brought to mind

OMG similar things have happened to me and I know exactly how frustrating it is!! I love the language you use and nice way of rhyming. The word "orphaned" is like a climax of this poem, I find it really poetuic in the middle of technological terms. Quite creative - now, no computer can take *that* from you
