“No Exit” 
1. He won the Nobel Prize for literature but rejected it.
2. He was born in Paris, which is cool.
3. He wrote the play “No Exit” which is about Hell, so it should be interesting.
4. He was captured by German troops while serving in the French Army during WW2, he has courage so I can respect that.
5. He never wanted to become famous; he was a simple man with very few possessions.


2. Bram Stoker
Dracula
1. He is an Irish writer and one day I would like to visit Ireland.
2. He wrote in epistolary, which is where he writes in diary entries, telegrams, and letters form the characters which I find interesting.
3. His book Dracula was made into a film and I like movies.
4. He wrote about vampires and loved folklore as do I.
5. He used his childhood illness as an influence in his writings.

3. Ian McEwan
Enduring Love or Atonement
1. He lived in Germany and East Asia for most of his childhood.
2. He married twice and took his son from his mother in court, which seems interesting enough.
3. He spoke out against Muslims for it views on women and homosexuality; I want to learn his points on those issues.
4. He had the nickname Ian Macabre, I have a nickname to, mine is just better because it’s evil squirrel.
5. He’s also a screenwriter, not just an author, I like variety.

        4. Lewis Carroll
Through the Looking Glass
1. He was a conservative and high Church Anglican, and I’m a Christian, we could possibly have conversations.
2. He was mathematically gifted and earned a double first degree; I’m really bad in math so maybe I can learn some more things about it.
3. He was six feet tall, we have height in common.
4. He had a stammer which prevented him from doing other things, and that makes me feel sorry for him so maybe I’ll find his books more interesting.
5. He had a family to inspire him, I kind of have that but they inspire me in a much darker way.

Emma
1. She was a very moral person, this I admire.
2. She had six brothers; we have the whole big family thing in common.
3. Besides just novels she also wrote poetry, poetry in my opinion is the greatest form of writing so that’s cool.
4. She didn’t go with the times, she kept writing even though it wasn’t acceptable for women.
5. She died unmarried, proving women can survive on there own.

        6.  H.G. Wells
The Time Machine
1.  He was very outspoken as a socialist and a pacifist, I think everyone should be outspoken.
2.  He joined the debating society at his school and I’m in debate
3.  He was an artist who loved to sketch, which means he was technically never wasting time.
4.  He didn’t just stick to fiction he also wrote non fiction, some nonfiction is ok to read like “The Heroin Diaries” by Nikki Sixx.
5.  He liked to question humanity; I’d like to hear his views on that.
